Shopping in Cowtown

Maybe I'm prejudiced, having been raised on my grandmother's glowing accounts of growing up in Fort Worth, but I think Fort Worth is a beautiful city. Built on the banks of the Trinity River, perched high on a bluff, it has sophisticated style without pretension. Years ago, some people did not think Fort Worth was "worth" anything. Naysayers said, "Fort Worth is nothing but a cowtown!" How wrong they were! When my grandmother was here, it was a far cry from what it is today, but she loved it. Today's Fort Worth shines!

What's it like to shop in Fort Worth? Fun and glittery--think silver, fringe, bandanas, cowhide and rhinestones. The lighting was not good so the photos are not the best, but here are some shots from the gift shop at the Reata restaurant next door.

We didn't get into very many stores, but it was fun. Here on Sundance Square, something always seems to be going on...lotsa people come down here in their fancy cars for a night on the town. Saturday night is very crowded...it's hoppin'!
