These are the stairs going down to breakfast and our friendly, hospitable Inn Keeper, Leslie, cooking up a wonderful breakfast for us.
The inviting courtyard.
One day we forgot to read the signs and arrived early for breakfast. Rather than run back upstairs, we wandered into the library. We had just enough time to read Virginia Woolf's "Mark on the Wall" short story aloud.
I fully intended to play the grand piano in the lounge, but never quite got around to it.
Here is Papa Glenn in the library writing postcards to the grandchildren.
Last, but not least, and especially for Marilee, this fabulous Christmas Tree made entirely of glittering costume jewelry.

Yes, we had one of their best rooms, "Butch's Hideout," (#201), the one that's featured in their brochures and ads (not the honeymoon suite, ooo-la-la!). The street crowds and sounds did not bother us. And it's a great gift (better than ice cream) when your beloved reads a short story aloud to you alone in such a quiet, beautifully furnished, private-in-public setting. May you be so lucky as I.
