Good Bye, Fort Worth

Tomorrow we leave for Greenville to visit my cousin, Fran, a visit we are very much looking forward to. But at the same time, we're a little sad at the thought of leaving Fort Worth. It's difficult to describe just how fresh and alive the city is. At nearly any time, day or evening, there is music everywhere you go. From the loudspeakers down the street at the parking garage, to the street corner musicians (every corner has one!). And at night, the lights come on and the city sparkles. As we prepare to leave Fort Worth, we leave you with these final scenes of Fort Worth at night, all within a few blocks of the hotel, taken by Glenn. To get in the mood, put on a little mellow country music and walk through the streets with us.

Yes, it has been a fun five-night stay. Took care of business (genealogy) and did some touristy things, too. I (the research assistant) saw Bedford (my first name) and Decatur (where my dad was born in 1909), TX, and the famous Stockyards, while Nancy was cloistered in the Archives and Libary. Tomorrow, we have another delicious breakfast at this wonderful B&B, tie up a few loose strings in the County Courthouse records, pack it up, head 'em up, and move 'em out!

I love the photo of the lights in the trees. Is this normal for the city? Its great!! I don't know why Edmonds doesn't do this!! :)

I agree! I think this is normal. It's a tourist area, but also the center of town where all the government offices are. The crowds are definitely a mix of local and visitors. In the B & B, we met two couples here for the weekend that live in Fort Worth. During the week the streets were filled with business people. On the weekends, everyone comes downtown with families.
