When the Sun Goes Down in Sundance Square

Perfect weather greeted us today when we arrived in Fort Worth and the mild temps continued into the evening as the Square began to come alive. Glenn and I took a walk before dinner to peruse menus in the countless nearby restaurant windows. As we walked down one street and up the next, the energy was on the rise and we noticed restaurant after restaurant with lines of people waiting for sidewalk and rooftop dining areas. Oh, so inviting! We chose Taverna, an Italian Pizzeria that was anything but. The food was excellent and far more than pizza! We took our time coming back, enjoying being out and about, watching the lights come on outlining all the surrounding buildings. A few weeks ago we had a voicemail from the folks at Etta's "warning" us that there was to be a concert on the roof of the Reata restaurant next door that would most likely be loud until 10:00 or so and would we be okay with that? We were up for the fun, but had no idea if it would be rock 'n roll or ???? As we arrived back at our room, we were delighted to discover that the music was jazz and very good jazz, at that. What a bonus for our first night! We have the windows open and it's hard to believe it's midweek. There are people everywhere, all ages, all types. I think it will be awhile before this town goes to bed.
