Taken on the grounds of the historic Kawaiaha'o Church in downtown Honolulu.

Some fairly heavy rain and strong winds brought high surf warnings and lots of water up onto the roads and walkways. Here are a couple of surf shots that don't do justice, of course.

Zebra doves are everywhere and their sweet cooing sound one of the most familiar sounds in Hawaii. They are so bold as to be somewhat of a pest in outdoor restaurants, landing on your table and even on your plate, if you don't watch out!
Pacific Golden Plover in the grass at Fort DeRussy on Waikiki.
Horsetail... so lovely when it's not in the flower bed!
Dahlias in formal garden at "English Camp National Park"
Bald Eagle on the sunny rocks off Pear Point. I snapped many a picture of this beautiful eagle, but this is the only one even close to being decent.
Sparrows at Roche Harbor
Crowds gathered all along the beach to watch the sunset, but flip flops, traffic and voices faded as I looked out at the setting sun. Me, the ocean, the sky, the horizon, the gentle waves lapping on the shore. Would there be an emerald flash of light as the sun dipped out of sight? Yes, it was there... an instant of wonder and mystery.
Sunset from the Deck on Hood Canal.
Aspen Grove at Theler Wetlands in Belfair, Washington.
Rocky Shore shining through the shallow waters of Hood Canal.
Ubiquitous Crow.
Early Morning Visitor. I heard the crunch and crackle of oyster shells underneath the feet of this young deer before I saw him. He didn't seem to be bothered at all by the old lady on the deck above him scrambling for her camera and snapping pics to beat the band. He walked right under the deck, emerging on the other side with scarcely a glance.
