Back in Fulton Harbor

Back in Fulton Harbor after two years. We fell in love with the area in 2008 and here we are soaking it all in again. Here are some scenes of the inn and the marina across the street.

Looks heavenly...

It really is pretty heavenly. Such a nice, slow pace and it's WARM. It's not quite as serene as it looks, though, because it is very popular with big groups and families. Lots of noise at times, especially in the mornings and evenings. There are a lot of locals (Texas local, not Fulton local) who vacation here. One thing I have noticed is that everyone is friendly, even the children. A big grandpa-type man came out of the room next door this morning as I was sitting in my little Adirondack sipping my coffee. It was still quite early and I had not even bothered to comb my hair, but I got a hearty, Texas size good morning from him!

While she was taking these photos, Johnathan and I did a bucket-full of errands and then went to tour the USS Lexington (CV-16), the last carrier from WW-II to be retired from the fleet and now a floating museum in Corpus Christi. After that we went swimming in the bay by the seawall in downtown Corpus...at the exact beach where my mother used to take us three kids back in the 1940's.
