This brought a chuckle, a heron, sitting on the seat (not the bow or the stern) of an old boat as if he belonged there. Notice the starfish all over the dock. Photo taken on Hood Canal.
My husband spotted this heron while out on a walk without the camera--he hurried back to the cabin to tell me and we jumped in the car to drive the mile or so to this spot. The heron was still there when we made it back about 20 minutes later, but as I snapped pictures, he took flight.
